1. Cash deposits

The main purpose of some banks opening on Saturdays is to receive deposits from their customers.

On Saturdays, you’re free to go to the bank to make deposit or you can even use the atm if the amount is small.

However, you have to bear in mind that the deposit you made in the bank on a Saturday will not be processed.

This goes on to tell you that Saturdays is not a business day for banks especially in the western countries.

Any cash deposit you made on a Saturday will be on pending until the next business day for banks which will be on a Monday except if a bank holiday falls on that very Monday.

Dont expect you deposit to be processed or for banks to start to process your deposit and have it posted to your bank account.

Money can transfer on a Saturday if electronic money transfer is used though it depends on a country banking policy.

As long as money transfer involves mobile banking or online banking, money transfer on Saturdays will go through.

In some banks, as long as this involves domestic money transfer, the recipient will receive the money that very day you made the transfer, while in some banks depending on the banking policies, the money transfer will go through, but will have to wait until the next banking day to process the money transfer and have posted to the recipient bank account.
