Why I’m saying this is because on Saturdays, banks don’t offer full financial services to their customers. Below are the services you will receive from banks on Saturdays though it depends on a bank and their policy.
1. Cash deposits
The main purpose of some banks opening on Saturdays is to receive deposits from their customers.
On Saturdays, you’re free to go to the bank to make deposit or you can even use the atm if the amount is small.
However, you have to bear in mind that the deposit you made in the bank on a Saturday will not be processed.
This goes on to tell you that Saturdays is not a business day for banks especially in the western countries.
Any cash deposit you made on a Saturday will be on pending until the next business day for banks which will be on a Monday except if a bank holiday falls on that very Monday.
Dont expect you deposit to be processed or for banks to start to process your deposit and have it posted to your bank account.
That will not happen until the next banking day.
2. Check deposit
On Saturdays if you noticed that a bank branch within your environment or area is open and you want to deposit a check, you can go ahead and do that right away.
Simply because banks do accept check deposits on Saturdays.

Generally, Saturdays or weekends are not considered a business day for banks except for Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Do banks process money on Saturday?
The answer is no. Banks don’t process money on Saturdays except for business days which are from Monday to Friday.
Any cash deposit made on a Saturday will be on pending until the business day for banks which should be on Monday.
However, if a bank holiday falls on that very Monday, then the next business day for banks will be on Tuesday and that is when the deposit will be processed.
For Example.
You made a cash deposit on January 14th 2023 which happens to be on a Saturday, then you expected your deposit to be processed on Monday 16th of 2023. That deposit won’t be processed on 16th of January 2023 as it is a bank holiday for all banks in the United States.
16th of January 2023 will be Martin Luther’s day and which there will be a bank holiday throughout the country.
In this very aspect, your cash deposit will be processed on 17th of January 2023 which falls on a Tuesday.
Can money transfer on a Saturday?
Money can transfer on a Saturday if electronic money transfer is used though it depends on a country banking policy.
As long as money transfer involves mobile banking or online banking, money transfer on Saturdays will go through.
Definitely will go through.
In some banks, as long as this involves domestic money transfer, the recipient will receive the money that very day you made the transfer, while in some banks depending on the banking policies, the money transfer will go through, but will have to wait until the next banking day to process the money transfer and have posted to the recipient bank account.
Do banks count saturday as a business?
The answer is a straight no. Banks don’t count saturday as a business day for banks.
Talking about business days for banks, it is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday except if a bank holiday falls on weekday then it won’t be a business day for banks.
